The alcohol-free positioning

Everything about this retreat is alcohol-free (including the flight over and back). There's no alcohol at The Magic House, none at our group meals, and none on any of the outings I plan. You won't be the only one not drinking, and you won't have to turn down a pour or explain yourself to a waiter. That alone takes a weight off that a lot of women don't realize they've been carrying. The drinks are good, and I take that seriously. Fresh delicious local coffee, which is worth the flight on its own. Fresh juices, sparkling water with real fruit, herbal teas, mocktails, and beautiful non-alcoholic options at dinner so you're holding something that feels like an occasion. This retreat is recovery-friendly and label-free at the same time. Women come at every stage. Some have years without alcohol, some are a few weeks in, some are still figuring out what they want. Nobody has to say a number or tell a story that sounds bad enough to qualify. I'm a certified coach, not a program, so we don't run meetings or use recovery language unless you want to. The vibe is a mix of wellness, adventure, and personal growth, with more laughing than you'd expect. Groups stay small so real conversation can happen, and I'm intentional about how the days are built so you're never dropped into a room full of strangers and left to fend for yourself. First names only. No one is required to share anything. Instead of a wine tasting or a hotel bar, you get hiking, yoga, sound healing, incredible food, coaching that goes deep, and the parts of greater Lisbon most visitors never see. Women almost always tell me the connection with the other women was the part they didn't see coming.

Is this trip right for you?

This retreat is for women who want to travel without alcohol. That includes women who are curious about their drinking, women actively changing their relationship with it, and women who stopped years ago and are tired of trips that revolve around wine. Solo travelers are welcome and common. You don't need a label, a bottom, or a certain number of days to belong here. The policy is simple: this is a fully alcohol-free retreat. That means no drinking during the retreat, including on your own time and in your room. It's about protecting the container for everyone in the group. If that doesn't sound like the trip you want right now, that's completely okay, and I'd rather you know before you book. A Typical Day Here's the rhythm. The specifics shift depending on the group, the weather, and what we all need that day, but this is the shape of it. Everyday we have a focus and our activities are planned accordingly... I like to leave an element of surprise ;). Morning Coffee at The Magic House (or a sunrise experience while the city still sleeps), breakfast together. Then we move: yoga, a walk, or a hike depending on the day. Sometimes a creative activity. Midday Lunch at The Magic House or on a picnic in the Sintra National Forest. Some days we're out exploring greater Lisbon after, hitting the waterfront, a village, a market, or a breath taking viewpoint. Other days we come back and there's open time. You can nap, journal, sit in the sun, or wander with the other women. Afternoon This is often the sensory work: sound healing, something hands-on, or an experience built around taste, touch, or scent. Sometimes it's a spa afternoon. It depends on the group and where we are in the week. Evening Dinner together, always. This is where the group really becomes a group. Beautiful food, good non-alcoholic drinks, and conversations that run long. Some nights we do a closing circle or something quiet back at the house. Some nights we're out later than planned because nobody wants to leave the table. Then bed, and actual sleep, which for a lot of women is the thing that surprises them most. Nothing goes later than 9:00 pm! We value high quality, luxurious rest in local fine Portuguese linens.

Close to the Estrela Basilica, the first church in the world dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and Jardim de Estrela, a focal point for nature, community, and beauty in Lisbon. The Magic House is the perfect size and space for small, intimate gatherings, ideal for my personalized and custom retreats, accommodating up to 6-8 women—the ideal group size for true connection and transformation. Travel Insurance is required. It's a simple Uber ride from the Lisbon airport to The Magic House, I will be helping you navigate this as the trip get's closer and can help answer any questions you have about flights. A detailed packing list and agenda is sent out a month prior to the retreats. You will not be left to navigate anything alone.

I host small alcohol-free retreats at The Magic House Retreat Center in Lisbon, Portugal. We do all the things. Days are about connecting with your senses through touch, sound, taste and more: hiking, yoga, sound healing, non-touristy experiences throughout the greater Lisbon area. Women leave with tools they keep using long after they fly home, and they get to know themselves and how to care for themselves in a whole new way. Magic happens at The Magic House!
