Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala
Sober travel should involve much more than sparkling water and an early night. Spend a week in glorious Antigua proving just how colorful, adventurous and genuinely fun life without alcohol or drugs can be.
This retreat is for adults living alcohol and drug-free, whether you stopped recently or have been doing this for decades. Come alone if you like many guests do. You’ll soon have people to share breakfast with, get lost in a Maya market with and laugh with while attempting to make Guatemala’s famously complicated pepián.
Mornings bring gentle movement and engaging conversations about purpose, relationships and creating a life you don’t want to escape from. Afternoons might find you exploring ancient Maya ruins, taking part in a traditional ceremony, tasting macadamia pancakes or gazing across Lake Atitlán while three volcanoes casually dominate the view.
By the end of the week, you may have acquired new friends, a favorite Guatemalan coffee, several things you didn’t intend to buy at the market and a renewed sense of what makes you feel alive. You’ll return home recharged, inspired and reminded that an alcohol-free life can be full of adventure, connection and joy.

Fully Dry
The villa is fully dry, but the experience is anything but. There is no alcohol or use of non-prescribed drugs, and all workshops, meals and organized gatherings are alcohol-free. Instead, expect excellent Guatemalan coffee, fresh juices, hibiscus tea, tropical coolers and plenty of reasons to raise a glass without wondering what happened the night before. Connection happens naturally through adventures, shared meals, small group conversations and relaxed evening check-ins. A pre-trip call means you’ll recognize a few faces before you arrive. Many guests travel alone, so we make sure everyone is included while also respecting your right to enjoy a quiet afternoon, close your bedroom door or decline a group singalong. The retreat is for people living without alcohol or drugs. Some familiar 12-Step ideas are included, but no special vocabulary or previous program experience is required. Public venues may serve alcohol to other visitors, but it is never part of our experience.
Wake to Guatemalan coffee, tropical fruit and optional yoga, stretching or meditation. After breakfast, join an engaging workshop about relationships, emotional well-being, purpose and creating a life you genuinely enjoy.
Share a freshly prepared lunch and make plans with your new companions. There is usually plenty of conversation, laughter and at least one person ordering more coffee.
You might wander Antigua’s cobbled streets, visit an ancient Maya site, explore a colorful market or head toward Lake Atitlán. On a quieter day, choose the pool, hot tub, massage, shopping, journaling or an entirely respectable nap.
This retreat is for adults committed to living without alcohol and non-prescribed drugs. You may have stopped recently or may have lived this way for decades. What matters is that you are comfortable traveling in a group and want to enjoy personal growth, cultural discovery and genuine connection. Guests must remain alcohol and drug free throughout the retreat, respect the villa’s fully dry policy and protect the privacy and emotional safety of others. This is a supportive travel and personal-growth experience. It is not a detoxification or residential treatment program and is not suitable for anyone who needs medical supervision to stop using alcohol or drugs.

There is Wi-Fi for staying connected, a pool and hot tub for switching off, and quiet corners for journaling, reading or simply taking a break from everyone.
